John Paris Colvis
Mathematician, Research Scientist, Aerospace Engineer (Retired)

Engineer and mathematician John Colvis has worked on many important projects with some of the top defense and astronautics companies. Interested in the field at an early age, Mr. Colvis started working as an associate system safety engineer with McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Co. in 1978. It was one of his first jobs after earning a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Washington University in 1977. He remained at McDonnell Douglas until 1981, when he then accepted a position as a senior system safety engineer with Martin Marietta Astronautics Group Strategic Systems Co. In 1987, he was promoted within the company to senior engineer. In 1995, Mr. Colvis joined Lockheed Martin Astronautics Space Launch Systems Co. as a senior engineer. He remained in this role until 2006, when he then moved on to staff engineer with United Launch Alliance. In 2009, he was presented with the opportunity to become a senior system engineer II with the Raytheon IDS Missile Defense Center. He served in this role until his retirement in 2016. Mr. Colvis’ worked in the aerospace and defense industry was preceded by his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps, where he served on active duty from 1966 to 1968. He is a Vietnam War combat veteran. He is a member of the VFW Post 4171, the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 907 and the Khe Sanh Veterans, Inc.
Mr. Colvis has many achievements to his name in the engineering field. In addition to his vocational accomplishments, his avocational research has led him to propose a revolutionary new foundation for all of science and mathematics, a new foundation that identifies the simple idea that demands quantum phenomena. This new foundation also resolves ancient and contemporary paradoxes, contradictions and conjectures in both science and mathematics. Included in this website are three files meant to share with you what Mr. Colvis calls “The Quantum Philosophy of Science and Mathematics.” The three files are entitled:
